Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Prepare Your Workspace
Lay out all necessary tools and materials on a clean, flat surface. Ensure your workspace is well-lit and free from static electricity. Ground yourself before starting to prevent static discharge.
Remove SIM Card and Tray
Use a SIM card eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. Set the SIM card and tray aside safely.
Open the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry open the back cover of the phone. Start at a corner and work your way around the edges. Be patient to avoid damaging the cover. Use a suction cup if necessary to lift the cover.
Unscrew and Remove the Midframe
With a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the midframe. Carefully lift the midframe away from the phone using a plastic spudger. Set the screws aside in a safe place.
Disconnect the Battery Connector
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Using a plastic spudger, gently disconnect the battery connector by prying it upwards. Ensure you do not damage surrounding components.
Remove the Old Battery
Use a plastic spudger to carefully lift the battery out of its housing. If necessary, apply gentle heat to loosen adhesive, but avoid overheating. Do not bend or puncture the battery.
Install the New Battery
Place the new battery into the housing, ensuring it is properly seated. Connect the battery connector to the motherboard. Use adhesive strips to secure the battery in place if needed.
Reassemble the Phone
Reattach the midframe and secure it with the screws removed earlier. Snap the back cover into place, ensuring all edges are aligned. Reinsert the SIM card and tray.
Power On and Test
Power on the phone to ensure the new battery is functioning properly. Check for any issues with booting or battery recognition. If all is well, your battery replacement is complete.
