Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Prepare Your Workspace
Clear a clean, well-lit workspace and gather all necessary tools and materials. Ensure your phone is powered off and disconnect any cables.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the device. This prevents any damage to the tray while opening the phone.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat evenly around the edges of the back cover. This softens the adhesive, making it easier to remove the cover.
Pry Open the Back Cover
Use a suction handle to lift the back cover. Insert a plastic opening tool into the seam and gently pry around the edges to loosen the adhesive. Be patient and avoid using excessive force.
Disconnect the Battery
Once the back cover is removed, use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Carefully disconnect the battery by using a spudger to lift the connector from the motherboard.
Remove the Old Battery
Gently lift the battery using a spudger or plastic card. Avoid bending the battery. If needed, apply a bit more heat to soften the adhesive further.
Install the New Battery
Place the new battery in the phone's battery compartment. Ensure it aligns properly with the connectors. Secure it in place using double-sided adhesive tape.
Reconnect the Battery Connector
Carefully reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard and reattach the connector shield with the screws removed earlier.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the phone's body and press firmly along the edges to secure the adhesive. If necessary, use a heat gun to re-soften the adhesive for a better seal.
