Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Ensure the device is completely powered off. Use a SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone.
Heat and Remove Back Cover
Gently heat the edges of the back cover using a heat gun or hairdryer to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the back cover while sliding a plastic opening tool around the edges to release the adhesive. Be patient and avoid prying too hard.
Remove Midframe Panel
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the midframe. Carefully use a spudger to detach the midframe from the phone. Keep track of all screws and their locations.
Disconnect Battery and Display Connectors
Gently disconnect the battery connector first, followed by the display connectors using a spudger or tweezers. Ensure you are not applying too much force to avoid damaging the connectors.
Remove the Old Screen
Apply heat around the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup and plastic opening tools to carefully lift and separate the screen from the frame. Proceed slowly to avoid damaging the underlying components.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame. Secure it using adhesive strips, ensuring a snug and precise fit. Reconnect the display connectors and ensure they are firmly seated.
Reassemble the Phone
Reconnect the battery connector. Reattach the midframe and secure it with screws. Carefully align and press the back cover into place, ensuring it adheres properly.
