Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Prepare the Device
Before beginning, ensure the phone is completely powered off. Remove the SIM card tray using a SIM eject tool. Place the device on a clean, static-free work surface.
Heat the Screen Edges
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove the screen. Keep the heat source moving to avoid overheating any area.
Remove the Screen
Place a suction cup near the edge of the screen and gently lift to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully slide it around the edges to release the adhesive. Avoid using metal tools to prevent damage.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Once the screen is loose, carefully lift it from the device. Use a spudger to disconnect the display cable connector from the motherboard. Be gentle to avoid damaging the connector.
Remove Old Adhesive
Use isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth to clean the frame by removing any residual adhesive. Ensure the surface is clean for the new screen adhesive to stick properly.
Attach New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the device and connect the display cable to the motherboard. Ensure the connection is secure before proceeding.
Secure the Screen
Apply the adhesive strips around the edges of the new screen. Firmly press the screen into place, ensuring it is securely attached to the frame.
Reassemble and Test
Reinsert the SIM card tray and power on the device. Test the new screen to ensure it is functioning correctly. Check for responsiveness and display quality.
