Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the 'Power Off' option appears. Tap it to turn off your Moto G04 completely. Wait for a few seconds to ensure it is fully powered down.
Remove SIM Card and Tray
Use a SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. Set the SIM card and tray aside safely.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer on a low setting to gently heat the edges of the screen. This softens the adhesive, making it easier to remove the screen. Do not overheat as this can damage internal components.
Separate the Screen from the Frame
Attach a suction cup to the lower portion of the screen. Gently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the frame. Work slowly to avoid cracking the screen further or damaging the frame.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a spudger, carefully lift and disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to prevent any power flow during the repair.
Remove the Screen
Locate and remove the screws securing the screen connector bracket using a Phillips #00 screwdriver. Gently disconnect the screen connector using tweezers and remove the old screen from the device.
Install the New Screen
Connect the replacement screen to the motherboard. Align it properly and press down gently to ensure a secure connection.
Secure the Screen
Reattach the screen connector bracket and secure it with screws. Use adhesive strips around the edges of the new screen to secure it to the frame. Ensure the screen is aligned properly before pressing it into place.
Reconnect Battery and Test
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Power on the device to test the new screen for functionality, ensuring touch and display are responsive.
Reinsert SIM Card and Tray
Once testing is complete and the screen functions properly, reinsert the SIM card and tray into the device. Ensure it is seated correctly.
