Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power off the Device
Hold down the power button and select 'Power Off' to ensure the device is completely turned off before beginning the repair.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Using a SIM card eject tool or paperclip, remove the SIM card tray from the device. Set it aside in a safe place.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Using a heat gun or hair dryer, gently warm the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Be sure to keep the heat moving and avoid holding it too long in one spot to prevent damage.
Separate the Screen from the Frame
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen. Pull up gently to create a small gap between the screen and the frame. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work your way around the edges to loosen the adhesive. If necessary, reapply heat to stubborn areas.
Disconnect the Screen Cables
Once the screen is loose, carefully lift it just enough to access the connectors. Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove any screws securing the connectors. Then, use the nylon spudger to disconnect the screen cables from the motherboard.
Remove the Old Screen
With the connectors detached, fully remove the screen from the device. Set the old screen aside and ensure no adhesive residue remains on the frame.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the frame. Reconnect the screen cables to the motherboard using the nylon spudger. Secure any screws that were removed earlier.
Secure the Screen
Apply new adhesive strips or double-sided tape to the frame. Gently press the new screen into place, ensuring it is securely attached. Reapply heat if necessary to ensure the adhesive sets properly.
Reinsert the SIM Card Tray
Insert the SIM card tray back into the device.
Power On and Test the Device
Turn on the device and test the new screen. Ensure the display functions correctly and the touch response is accurate. If everything works as expected, the repair is complete.
