Power Off the Device
Hold down the power button and select 'Power Off' from the options. Wait until the device is completely powered down.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the back cover starting from the bottom edge. Work your way around the perimeter until the cover is fully detached.
Disconnect the Battery
Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Remove the Display Assembly
Apply heat to the edges of the screen using a heat gun or hairdryer to loosen the adhesive. Use a suction handle to lift the screen slightly and insert a plastic opening tool to separate the adhesive. Carefully work your way around the edges, taking care not to damage the display cables.
Disconnect the Display Cables
Once the screen is lifted, use tweezers to carefully disconnect the display cables attached to the motherboard. Take note of their positions for reassembly.
Prepare the New Screen
Clean the edges of the frame with isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth to remove any residual adhesive. Apply new adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the frame.
Install the New Screen
Carefully connect the new screen's cables to the motherboard. Align the screen with the frame and gently press it into place, ensuring the adhesive holds it securely.
Reconnect the Battery and Test
Reconnect the battery connector and reattach the connector shield with the screws. Power on the device to test the new screen's functionality.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the phone and press down around the edges until it clicks back into place securely.
