Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair

1

Power Off and Remove SIM Card

5 min

Ensure the phone is completely powered off. Use the SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device. This prevents damage to the SIM card and tray during the repair process.

2

Heat and Remove the Back Cover

10 min

Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover. This softens the adhesive holding it in place. Carefully insert a plastic opening tool into the seam and gently pry the back cover away from the phone. Work your way around the edges until the cover is free.

3

Disconnect the Battery

5 min

Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Use a plastic spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard. This step ensures no power flows through the device during the repair.

4

Remove the Display Assembly

15 min

Remove any screws securing the display assembly. Apply heat around the edges of the display to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to gently lift the screen while sliding a plastic opening tool around the edges to separate it from the frame. Be cautious of the display cable, and gently disconnect it using tweezers.

5

Clean the Frame

5 min

Use isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth to clean any adhesive residue from the frame. Ensure the surface is smooth and free of debris to ensure proper adhesion of the new screen.

6

Install the New Screen

10 min

Connect the display cable of the new screen to the motherboard. Carefully align the new screen with the frame, ensuring no cables are pinched. Press the screen into place, applying even pressure along the edges to secure the adhesive.

7

Reconnect the Battery and Test

5 min

Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard and replace the connector shield. Before sealing the device, power on the phone to test the new screen functionality. Ensure the display responds correctly to touch inputs.

8

Reattach the Back Cover

5 min

Once functionality is confirmed, press the back cover into place. Apply slight pressure around the edges to ensure the adhesive bonds. Reinsert the SIM card tray.
