Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on your Moto G14 until the power menu appears. Select 'Power off' to completely turn off the device to avoid any electrical issues during the repair.
Remove the Back Cover
Use the plastic spudger to gently pry open the back cover of the phone. Start from one corner and carefully work your way around the edges until the cover is loose. Set it aside.
Disconnect the Battery
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Carefully lift the shield with tweezers and disconnect the battery connector to ensure no power flows through the phone.
Remove the Old Screen
Gently heat the edges of the front screen using a heat gun or hairdryer for about 30 seconds to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly, then insert a spudger to separate the adhesive. Carefully work around the edges until the screen is free. Take care to disconnect the display cable before fully removing the screen.
Install the New Screen
Position the new screen carefully, aligning it with the frame of the phone. Connect the display cable to the motherboard. Gently press the screen to adhere it to the frame, ensuring it's securely in place.
Reconnect the Battery
Reattach the battery connector to the motherboard. Secure it with the screws and the connector shield using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the rear of the device. Press down firmly along the edges until it clicks back into place, ensuring it is secured properly.
Power On and Test
Turn on the device by pressing the power button. Once the phone is on, test the new screen for touch responsiveness and ensure there are no display issues.
Clean the Screen
Use a microfiber cloth to clean the screen, removing any fingerprints or smudges that may have occurred during installation.
