Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Before you start, ensure your Motorola Moto G22 is completely powered off to prevent any electrical damage or injuries. Hold down the power button and select 'Power off' from the menu.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Using a SIM ejector tool or a paperclip, gently remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. Set it aside in a safe place.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer on a low setting to carefully heat the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove the screen. Be sure to keep the heat source moving and do not stay in one spot for too long to avoid damage.
Pry Open the Screen
Use a suction cup to lift the edge of the screen. Once you have a gap, insert a plastic opening tool and gently pry around the edges to release the adhesive. Be patient and work slowly to avoid cracking the glass further.
Disconnect the Battery
Once the screen is lifted, use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector. This will ensure that no power is running through the device during the rest of the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Carefully disconnect the display cable using tweezers and remove the old screen completely. Set the screen aside for safe disposal.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen and connect the display cable. Ensure the connections are secure to avoid display issues.
Secure the New Screen
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the frame of the phone. Carefully press the new screen into place, ensuring it is aligned properly.
Reconnect the Battery and Test
Reconnect the battery connector. Power on the device to ensure the new screen is functioning correctly. Test touch functionality and check for any display issues.
Reassemble the Device
Once the screen is confirmed to be working, replace the SIM card tray. Your Motorola Moto G22 is now ready to use with its new screen.
