Power Off the Device
Ensure your Motorola Moto G23 is completely powered off before beginning the repair. This prevents potential electrical hazards and protects your device from damage.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry off the back cover of the phone. Start at one corner and work your way around the edges until the cover is completely detached.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Carefully lift the shield and disconnect the battery using a spudger to avoid short-circuiting the device.
Remove the Screws Securing the Midframe
Remove all screws securing the midframe to the front panel using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Set the screws aside in a safe place.
Separate the Midframe
Using a plastic opening tool, gently pry the midframe away from the front panel. Be careful not to damage any cables attached to the midframe.
Detach the Display Cable
Locate the display cable connector and carefully detach it using a spudger. Handle the connector with care to avoid damaging the cable or connector.
Remove the Broken Screen
Apply heat around the edges of the screen using a heat gun or hairdryer to loosen the adhesive. Use a suction cup and plastic opening tools to lift and remove the screen from the frame.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame and connect the display cable. Ensure the new screen is seated properly and secure it using adhesive strips or double-sided tape.
Reassemble the Device
Reattach the midframe and secure it with screws. Reconnect the battery and replace the battery connector shield. Finally, snap the back cover into place.
