Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power off' from the options displayed on the screen. Wait for the device to completely shut down.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Insert a SIM eject tool or a paperclip into the small hole next to the SIM card tray. Gently push to eject the tray and remove it from the device.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat around the edges of the screen for about 1-2 minutes. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place.
Lift the Screen
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen. Gently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame. Slowly work your way around the edges to fully detach the screen. Be cautious not to pull too hard to avoid damaging the connectors.
Disconnect the Screen
Once the screen is lifted, carefully disconnect the screen's ribbon cable using a spudger. Gently lift the connector to detach it from the motherboard.
Prepare the New Screen
Remove any protective films from the new screen. Apply double-sided adhesive tape around the edges of the new screen to ensure it adheres properly to the device frame.
Connect the New Screen
Align the ribbon cable of the new screen with the connector on the motherboard and press down gently to secure it. Ensure the connection is firm and secure.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the frame of the device. Press down around the edges to secure the adhesive tape to the frame, ensuring there are no gaps.
Reattach the SIM Card Tray
Insert the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the device. Ensure it is flush with the side of the phone.
Power On the Device
Press and hold the power button until the Motorola logo appears on the screen. Test the new screen to ensure it is responsive and functioning correctly.
