Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button to turn off the Motorola Moto G31 completely. Wait until the screen is black and the device is fully powered down.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole next to the SIM card tray. Apply slight pressure to eject the SIM tray and remove it from the phone.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the phone's screen. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove the screen. Be sure not to overheat the device.
Lift the Screen
Place a suction cup near the edge of the screen and gently pull to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully slide it around the edges to loosen the adhesive. Be patient and avoid using excessive force.
Disconnect the Screen
Once the screen is loose, carefully lift it from the device. Use a spudger to disconnect the ribbon cables attaching the screen to the motherboard. Set the old screen aside.
Prepare the New Screen
Remove any protective films from the new screen. Use a microfiber cloth to clean any dust or fingerprints. Apply double-sided adhesive tape around the edges of the new screen.
Connect the New Screen
Align the new screen with the phone and connect the ribbon cables to the motherboard. Ensure a secure connection to prevent display issues.
Secure the Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the frame of the phone. Press down firmly around the edges to secure the adhesive. Ensure the screen is flush with the phone body.
Reinsert SIM Card Tray
Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot. Ensure it is properly seated.
Power On and Test
Power on the device by pressing the power button. Verify that the new screen is functioning correctly by testing touch responsiveness and display quality.
