Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears. Select 'Power Off' to turn off the device completely. This ensures your safety and prevents any potential damage to the phone's circuitry during the repair.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. Set the tray aside in a safe place to avoid misplacing it.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently warm the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Heat for about 1-2 minutes, moving the heat source around the edges to avoid overheating any one area.
Pry Open the Screen
Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly, creating a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully slide it around the perimeter to loosen the adhesive. Be gentle to avoid damaging the screen or the internal components.
Disconnect the Screen Connectors
Once the screen is loosened, carefully lift it from the frame. Use tweezers or a spudger to disconnect the screen connectors from the motherboard. Take note of their positions for reassembly.
Remove the Old Screen
Fully detach the old screen from the device. If any adhesive residue remains, clean it off with the spudger or a gentle adhesive remover, ensuring the surface is smooth for the new screen.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the connectors and carefully attach them to the motherboard. Ensure each connector is securely fastened. Once connected, gently place the screen onto the frame.
Secure the Screen
Apply new adhesive strips or glue to the edges of the frame, then press the screen firmly in place. Use the heat gun or hairdryer again briefly to set the adhesive, if necessary.
Reinsert the SIM Card Tray
Carefully reinsert the SIM card tray into its slot. Ensure it is properly aligned and seated.
Power On the Device and Test
Press the power button to turn the device back on. Test the new screen for functionality, checking for touch responsiveness and display clarity. Ensure everything is working properly.
