Press and hold the power button on your Moto G4 until the power menu appears. Select 'Power Off' and wait until the device completely shuts down.

2

Remove the Back Cover and Battery

5 min

Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry off the back cover starting from one corner. Once the cover is removed, use your fingers to lift and remove the battery.

3

Detach All Screws

10 min

Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the midframe. This includes screws around the perimeter and near the battery compartment.

4

Separate the Midframe

10 min

Using a spudger, carefully separate the midframe from the front assembly by undoing the clips around the edges. Be gentle to avoid damaging the clips.

5

Disconnect the Display Cable

5 min

Locate the display cable connector and use a spudger to gently pry it up from the motherboard. Be careful not to damage the connector.

6

Heat the Display Adhesive

Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat evenly around the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Be cautious to not overheat the device.

Align the new screen with the frame and press it into place. Reconnect the display cable to the motherboard.

9

Reassemble the Device

Reattach the midframe by pressing it into place and securing all screws. Reinsert the battery and snap the back cover onto the device.
