Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Turn off your Motorola Moto G45 5G completely. Use the SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the device. This will prevent any damage to the SIM card and allow easier access during the repair.
Heat and Loosen the Screen Adhesive
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to evenly heat the edges of the screen for about 2-3 minutes. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place, making it easier to remove. Be careful not to overheat the device.
Separate the Screen from the Frame
Place a suction cup on the lower part of the screen to lift it slightly. Insert a plastic card or guitar pick between the screen and the frame, and carefully work your way around the edges to separate the adhesive. Take your time to avoid cracking the screen further or damaging the frame.
Disconnect the Screen
Once the screen is lifted, use a spudger to gently disconnect the screen's ribbon cable from the motherboard. This will allow you to completely remove the old screen from the device.
Prepare the New Screen
Remove any protective films from the replacement screen. Attach adhesive strips to the back of the new screen if not pre-installed. Make sure the adhesive is properly aligned to ensure a secure fit.
Connect the New Screen
Carefully connect the ribbon cable of the new screen to the motherboard. Ensure it is securely attached to avoid display issues. Use tweezers if necessary to align the connectors properly.
Secure the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device frame and gently press down along the edges to secure the adhesive. Ensure there are no gaps and that the screen is flush with the frame.
Reinsert SIM Card and Power On
Reinsert the SIM card tray into the device. Power on the phone to test the new screen for functionality. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity. If everything works as expected, the repair is complete.
Final Inspection
Perform a final inspection of the device to ensure everything is securely in place and functioning correctly. Confirm that there is no leftover adhesive on the frame or screen.
