Turn off your Moto G5 Plus by holding the power button and selecting 'Power Off'. Use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the device.
Loosen Adhesive and Open the Device
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert a plastic opening tool between the screen and the frame. Carefully work your way around the edges to pry the screen away from the device.
Disconnect the Battery
Once the screen is lifted, use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector to prevent any electrical shorts.
Remove the Old Screen
Carefully disconnect the display cable by using tweezers to lift the connector. Remove the old screen completely from the device.
Prepare the New Screen
Take your replacement screen and ensure the connectors match the original. Remove any protective films from the new screen's adhesive areas.
Attach the New Screen
Connect the display cable of the new screen to the motherboard. Ensure the connector clicks into place securely.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery connector. Align the new screen with the frame and press gently around the edges to secure the adhesive.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for touch responsiveness and display quality. Ensure all functions work correctly.
Final Assembly
Reinsert the SIM card tray. Ensure all components are securely in place and there are no gaps around the edges of the screen.
