Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Remove the Back Cover
Start by powering off your Moto G5. Use the plastic opening tool to gently pry off the back cover of the phone. Begin at one corner and work your way around the edges until the cover is completely removed.
Remove the Battery
With the back cover removed, locate the battery and use the plastic opening tool to gently lift it out of the device.
Unscrew the Midframe
Using the T5 Torx screwdriver, remove all screws that secure the midframe. Keep track of these screws for reassembly.
Detach the Midframe
Once all screws are removed, use the spudger to carefully separate the midframe from the front panel assembly. Proceed slowly to avoid damaging any cables or components.
Disconnect the Screen
Use the tweezers to gently disconnect the display cable from the motherboard. Be cautious not to tug on the cable, as this may cause damage.
Remove the Old Screen
Apply heat to the edges of the screen using a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive. Use the suction cup to lift the old screen while using a plastic opening tool to pry around the edges. Carefully remove the screen from the device.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device's frame. Connect the display cable to the motherboard. Secure the screen using double-sided adhesive tape around the edges to ensure it stays in place.
Reassemble the Phone
Reattach the midframe and secure it with the Torx screws. Insert the battery back into place. Finally, snap the back cover onto the device.
