Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card Tray
Begin by powering off your Moto G50 5G completely. Use a SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the device. Set the tray aside in a safe place.
Remove Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry around the edges of the back cover. If necessary, use a heat gun or hair dryer to slightly warm the edges to loosen the adhesive. Once loosened, carefully lift the back cover away from the device.
Disconnect Battery Connector
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard. This step ensures no current is flowing through the device, preventing accidental short circuits.
Remove Old Screen
Use a suction cup to gently lift the screen. If it's difficult to remove, gently heat the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Once lifted, disconnect the display cable using tweezers or a spudger.
Install New Screen
Align the new screen with the device frame. Connect the display cable to the motherboard. Ensure the connection is secure and test the fit before securing the screen.
Secure Screen and Reassemble Device
Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape to secure the new screen in place. Reconnect the battery connector and replace the battery connector cover. Reattach the back cover, pressing firmly around the edges to secure the adhesive.
Reinstall SIM Card Tray and Test Device
Reinsert the SIM card tray into its slot. Power on your device and test the new screen to ensure it functions correctly, checking for touch sensitivity and display quality.
