Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power Off' to shut down the device completely. This is a crucial step to prevent any electrical damage during the repair.
Remove SIM Card Tray
Use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device. Set the tray and SIM card aside in a safe place.
Heat the Screen Edges
Use a hairdryer or heat gun to gently heat the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove the screen. Move the heat source in a circular motion to avoid overheating any area.
Remove the Screen
Place a suction cup near the top edge of the screen and gently lift to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool or guitar pick into the gap and carefully work your way around the device to separate the screen from the frame. Be cautious of the flex cables attached to the screen.
Disconnect the Battery
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use tweezers to carefully remove the cover, then gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Disconnect Screen Cable
Locate the screen connector cable on the motherboard and carefully disconnect it using a plastic opening tool. Ensure the cable is completely free before proceeding.
Install the New Screen
Position the new screen over the device and connect the screen cable to the motherboard. Ensure the connection is secure and properly aligned.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard and secure it with the cover using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Ensure all screws are tightened properly.
Secure the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the frame and press down gently around the edges to secure it. Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape if needed to ensure a firm hold.
Reinsert SIM Card Tray and Power On
Reinsert the SIM card tray and power on the device to test the new screen. Ensure the display functions correctly and the touch sensitivity is as expected.
