Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears. Select 'Power Off' to turn off your Moto G51 5G. Wait for a few seconds to ensure the device is completely powered down.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM card eject tool or a paperclip to eject the SIM card tray. Set the tray and SIM card aside in a safe location.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Using a heat gun or hairdryer, gently heat the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Move the heat source in a circular motion for about 2-3 minutes, ensuring the device does not overheat.
Pry Open the Screen
Place a suction cup on the lower part of the screen and gently pull to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and slide it around the edges to loosen the adhesive. Be patient and take care not to damage the internal components.
Disconnect the Battery
Once the screen is loosened, carefully open the device. Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Locate the display cable connector and carefully use a spudger to disconnect it from the motherboard. Take care not to damage the connector or surrounding components.
Remove the Old Screen
Fully detach the screen from the device and set it aside. Clean any remaining adhesive from the frame using a microfiber cloth and a suitable adhesive remover if necessary.
Attach the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame. Connect the display cable to the motherboard. Ensure the connection is secure.
Reconnect the Battery and Secure the Screen
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape to secure the new screen in place. Reattach the battery connector cover and secure it with screws.
Reassemble and Test the Device
Reinsert the SIM card tray. Power on the device and test the new screen to ensure it functions correctly. Verify touch sensitivity and display quality.
