Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold the power button until the power menu appears, then select 'Power Off' to ensure the device is completely shut down. This is crucial to prevent any electrical damage during the repair.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Using the SIM ejector tool, gently push into the hole next to the SIM card slot to release and remove the SIM card tray. Set it aside safely.
Heat the Edges of the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply moderate heat around the edges of the back cover. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove the cover.
Remove the Back Cover
Carefully insert a plastic opening tool between the back cover and the phone frame, gently prying around the edges to release the adhesive. Use a suction cup if necessary to lift the back cover.
Remove the Internal Screws
With a Phillips #00 screwdriver, carefully remove all screws securing the internal plastic cover and the battery connector. Keep these screws organized.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to prevent any electrical shorts during the screen replacement.
Detach the Old Screen
Heat the front screen edges using a heat gun or hairdryer, then use a suction cup and a plastic opening tool to gently lift and separate the screen from the frame. Be sure to disconnect any flex cables connecting the screen to the motherboard.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the frame, connecting any necessary flex cables to the motherboard. Ensure the screen fits snugly into the frame without any gaps.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery, replace the internal plastic cover, and secure it with the screws. Ensure all components are properly aligned and secure before proceeding.
Seal the Back Cover and Insert SIM Tray
Apply new adhesive strips if necessary, then press the back cover firmly onto the phone frame. Insert the SIM card tray back into its slot. Power on the device to test the new screen.
