Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Ensure the phone is powered off completely. Use the SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover. This softens the adhesive, making it easier to remove. Be careful not to overheat.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a suction cup to create a gap between the back cover and the frame. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and slide it around the edges to release the adhesive. Carefully lift the back cover off.
Unscrew and Remove Midframe
Remove all screws securing the midframe using a T3 Torx screwdriver. Carefully lift the midframe off, using a spudger if necessary to gently pry it away.
Disconnect Battery Connector
Locate the battery connector and use a spudger to carefully disconnect it from the motherboard. This ensures no power is running through the device during the repair.
Disconnect and Remove the Old Screen
Disconnect the display connector from the motherboard. Use a heat gun to gently warm the edges of the screen, then carefully insert a plastic opening tool under the screen to release the adhesive. Lift the old screen away from the frame.
Install the New Screen
Remove any protective films from the new screen. Align the new screen with the frame and press it into place. Reconnect the display connector to the motherboard.
Reassemble the Phone
Reconnect the battery connector. Reattach the midframe and secure it with screws. Carefully align and press the back cover onto the phone, ensuring the adhesive holds.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen to ensure it is functioning correctly. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity.
