Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on your Moto G5S, then select 'Power Off' to completely shut down the device before beginning any repairs.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry around the edges of the back cover. Carefully lift the cover off to reveal the internal components.
Remove the Battery
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the battery connector, then lift the battery out of the device.
Heat the Front Screen
Use a hairdryer or heat gun to apply heat evenly around the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Do not overheat as it may damage the internal components.
Remove the Front Screen
Place a suction cup near the top edge of the screen and pull gently to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool in the gap and carefully work your way around the edges, separating the screen from the frame.
Disconnect the Screen Connectors
Using tweezers or a spudger, carefully disconnect the screen cables from the motherboard. Be gentle to avoid damaging the connectors.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's cables to the motherboard. Align the screen with the frame and press down gently to secure it. Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape to affix the screen in place.
Reassemble the Device
Reinsert the battery and secure it with screws. Reattach the back cover by aligning it with the edges and pressing down until it clicks into place.
Power On and Test the Device
Press the power button to turn on your Moto G5S. Test the new screen to ensure touch functionality and display quality are as expected.
