Power Off the Device
Ensure your Motorola Moto G64 5G is completely powered off by holding down the power button and selecting 'Power Off'. Wait a few seconds to ensure it is fully turned off.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently warm the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Use a suction handle to lift a corner of the back cover and insert a plastic opening tool to carefully pry it off. Work your way around the edges until the back cover is completely detached.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a spudger to gently lift and disconnect it. This ensures the device is completely powered down and safe to work on.
Remove the Old Screen
Use the heat gun to gently warm the edges of the screen. Attach the suction handle to the screen and use the plastic opening tool to carefully lift and pry the screen away from the frame. Be cautious of the flex cables connecting the screen to the motherboard.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device and carefully connect the flex cables to the motherboard. Ensure the connections are secure and the screen is properly aligned within the frame.
Secure the Screen
Use adhesive strips or double-sided adhesive tape to secure the new screen in place. Ensure the screen is firmly attached to the frame and free of any gaps.
Reconnect the Battery
Carefully reconnect the battery to the motherboard using the spudger to press the connector back into place. Ensure it clicks into position securely.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the device and press it firmly into place. Apply gentle pressure around the edges to ensure the adhesive reseals properly.
Power On and Test the Device
Power on your Motorola Moto G64 5G and test the new screen to ensure it responds correctly to touch inputs and displays properly.
