Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Before beginning any repair, ensure your device is completely powered off. Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears, then select 'Power Off'. Wait for the device to fully turn off.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the device. This will prevent damage to the SIM card and tray during the repair process.
Loosen Adhesive with Heat
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently warm the edges of the back cover. This will soften the adhesive securing it. Move the heat source in a circular motion for about 2-3 minutes.
Remove the Back Cover
Place a suction cup near the bottom of the back cover. Gently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to separate the back cover from the frame. Work around the edges carefully to avoid damaging the cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector, ensuring the device is completely powered down.
Remove the Old Screen
Gently heat the front of the screen using a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup and a plastic opening tool to carefully separate and remove the old screen from the frame, taking care not to damage the underlying components.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame. Secure it using adhesive strips or double-sided tape. Connect the new screen's ribbon cable to the motherboard connector. Ensure the screen is properly seated and aligned.
Reconnect the Battery
Reattach the battery connector to the motherboard. Replace the connector cover and secure it with screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the phone's frame. Press down firmly around the edges to secure it with the adhesive. If necessary, apply gentle heat to improve adhesion.
Power On and Test the Device
Reinsert the SIM card tray and power on the device. Test the new screen for proper functionality, ensuring the display is responsive and free from defects.
