Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold the power button until the power options appear, then select 'Power off' to ensure the device is completely turned off.
Heat the Edges
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This softens the adhesive holding the screen in place. Move the heat source in a circular motion around the edges for about 1-2 minutes.
Lift the Screen
Place a suction cup near the top edge of the screen. Gently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to pry the screen from the frame. Work your way around the device to loosen the screen completely.
Disconnect the Screen
Once the screen is lifted, use a spudger to carefully disconnect the ribbon cables connecting the screen to the motherboard. Be gentle to avoid damaging the connectors.
Remove Old Adhesive
Use tweezers and isopropyl alcohol with a microfiber cloth to remove any remaining adhesive from the frame. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before proceeding.
Attach New Screen
Align the new screen and reconnect the ribbon cables securely. Apply new adhesive strips or double-sided tape to the frame, then carefully press the new screen into place, ensuring it is properly aligned.
Reassemble and Test
Power on the device to test the new screen's functionality. Ensure touch sensitivity and display clarity are intact. If all is well, press down firmly on the edges to secure the screen.
