Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Down the Device
Hold down the power button and select 'Power Off' to ensure the device is completely off before beginning the repair.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM eject tool or paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the device. This prevents any damage to the SIM card during the repair process.
Heat the Edges
Using a heat gun or hair dryer, gently heat the edges of the phone to soften the adhesive securing the back cover. Move the heat source in a circular motion for about 2-3 minutes.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a suction cup to pull up slightly on the back cover while inserting a plastic opening tool between the back cover and the frame. Carefully slide the tool around the edges to release the adhesive.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a spudger to gently pry it off the motherboard. This ensures the device is completely powered down for safety.
Remove the Old Screen
Gently heat the front screen to loosen the adhesive. Use the suction cup and plastic opening tools to lift and remove the cracked screen from the phone frame. Be cautious of any sharp glass pieces.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the phone's frame. Press gently to adhere it in place. Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape to secure the screen.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard using a spudger. Ensure a secure connection to restore power to the phone.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the frame and press firmly around the edges to secure it. If necessary, use a small amount of heat to help the adhesive bond.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen to ensure it responds correctly to touch inputs and displays properly. Confirm all functions are working before re-inserting the SIM card tray.
