Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold the power button and select 'Power Off' to shut down your Moto G71S completely. This is crucial for your safety and to protect the device's internal components during the repair.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the device. This will prevent any potential damage to the SIM card or tray during disassembly.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the phone's screen. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove the screen. Be careful not to overheat the device to avoid damage.
Pry Open the Screen
Apply a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen to lift it slightly. Then, use a plastic opening tool to gently pry around the edges, carefully loosening the adhesive. Work slowly to avoid cracking the screen further or damaging internal components.
Disconnect the Battery
Once the screen is lifted, use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector. This step is crucial to prevent any accidental short-circuits during the screen replacement.
Detach the Screen
Locate and unscrew the screws securing the display connector shield using a Phillips #00 screwdriver. Remove the shield and use tweezers to disconnect the display cable from the motherboard.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's display cable to the motherboard. Carefully align the new screen and press it into place, ensuring all clips and connectors are securely attached. Reinstall the display connector shield and secure it with screws.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery connector, and press the screen firmly around the edges to adhere it back to the phone body using adhesive strips or screen adhesive. Ensure there are no gaps between the screen and the body.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device to test the new screen. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity. Ensure all functions are working as expected before fully securing the screen.
