Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Before beginning the repair, ensure the phone is completely powered off to prevent any electrical damage or short circuits.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry around the edges of the back cover. Carefully work your way around the device to release the clips without cracking the cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a spudger to gently disconnect it from the motherboard. This will ensure there is no power running through the device while you work.
Heat and Remove the Front Screen
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to evenly heat the edges of the front screen. Apply the suction cup to the lower portion of the screen and gently pull upward to create a small gap. Use a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the frame, taking care not to damage the internal components.
Disconnect the Display Cables
Once the screen is partially lifted, locate and carefully disconnect the display cables using tweezers. This will fully detach the screen from the device.
Clean the Frame
Use a microfiber cloth and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to clean the adhesive residue from the frame. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before proceeding.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame and connect the display cables. Carefully position the screen in place, ensuring it sits flush with the edges of the device.
Secure the Screen with Adhesive
Apply the adhesive strips around the edges of the frame. Firmly press the new screen down onto the adhesive, ensuring a secure fit.
Reconnect the Battery and Reassemble
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Place the back cover onto the device and press firmly around the edges to snap it back into place.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality. Ensure the display responds to touch and is free from any visual defects.
