Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair

1

Power Off the Device

2 min

Press and hold the power button on your Moto G82 5G. Tap 'Power off' on the screen to completely turn off the device. This prevents any accidental short circuits during the repair.

2

Remove the Back Cover

5 min

Apply heat to the edges of the back cover using a heat gun or hairdryer for 1-2 minutes to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to gently lift the back cover, and insert a plastic opening tool to carefully separate it from the phone. Work slowly around the edges to avoid cracking the cover.

3

Remove the Midframe

6 min

Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the midframe. Keep the screws organized as you will need them for reassembly. Use a spudger to gently pry the midframe away from the device. Be cautious not to damage any cables.

4

Disconnect the Battery

4 min

Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard. Ensure you do not apply too much force to avoid damaging the connector.

5

Remove the Old Battery

8 min

Gently lift the battery using a plastic opening tool, taking care not to bend or puncture it. If it is difficult to remove, apply a little more heat to loosen the adhesive. Use tweezers to help remove any adhesive strips securing the battery.

6

Install the New Battery

5 min

Place the new battery in the battery compartment. Ensure it sits flat and secure it with double-sided adhesive tape if necessary. Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard.

7

Reattach the Midframe

5 min

Align the midframe and press it into place. Reinsert and tighten all the screws you previously removed, ensuring the midframe is securely attached to the device.

8

Reattach the Back Cover

5 min

Carefully align the back cover with the phone's frame. Press down evenly around the edges to secure it in place. If necessary, apply gentle heat to reactivate the adhesive for a snug fit.

9

Power On the Device

2 min

Press and hold the power button to turn on your Moto G82 5G. Verify that the new battery is functioning correctly and that the device powers on without issues.
