Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears. Select 'Power Off' to completely shut down the device. This is crucial to prevent any electrical shorts or damage during the repair.
Remove SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. Set the tray aside in a safe place.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Do not overheat, as this could damage the phone.
Pry Open the Screen
Carefully place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen. Pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to gently separate the screen from the frame. Work around the edges to free the screen.
Disconnect the Screen
Once the screen is loose, use a spudger to carefully disconnect the display cable from the motherboard. Be gentle to avoid damaging the connector.
Remove the Old Screen
Fully detach the screen from the device. Clean any residual adhesive from the frame using a microfiber cloth.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's display cable to the motherboard. Ensure it is securely attached. Carefully align the new screen with the frame, pressing it into place.
Secure the Screen
Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape to secure the new screen to the frame. Ensure full contact around the edges to prevent gaps.
Reinsert the SIM Card Tray
Insert the SIM card tray back into its slot.
Power On the Device
Press and hold the power button to turn the device back on. Test the new screen to ensure it functions correctly.
