Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold down the power button and select 'Power Off' to completely turn off the Motorola Moto G84. Wait until the screen goes dark to ensure the device is fully powered down.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Using a SIM card eject tool or a paperclip, remove the SIM card tray from the side of the device. Set it aside in a safe place.
Heat the Edges
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to carefully warm the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Heat the edges evenly for about 1-2 minutes, maintaining a safe distance to avoid overheating.
Pry Open the Screen
Apply a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and gently work your way around the perimeter to loosen the adhesive. Use a spudger for additional leverage if necessary.
Disconnect the Battery
Once the screen is lifted, use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove any screws securing the battery connector cover. Carefully disconnect the battery connector using a spudger to ensure no power flows to the device.
Disconnect the Screen
Locate and disconnect the display cable connector by gently lifting it with a spudger or tweezers. This will free the old screen from the device.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the device and reconnect the display cable connector. Ensure it clicks into place securely.
Reattach the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector and reattach any screws securing the connector cover. Ensure all connections are secure before proceeding.
Seal the Device
Carefully align the new screen with the frame and press down firmly along the edges to secure the adhesive. If necessary, use new adhesive strips or tape to ensure a secure fit.
Power On and Test
Reinsert the SIM card tray and power on the device. Check the new screen for responsiveness and display quality. Ensure all functions, such as touch sensitivity and display clarity, are working correctly.
