Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Power off your Moto G9 Play by holding down the power button and selecting 'Power off'. Use the SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card and tray from the device.
Heat and Remove Back Cover
Gently heat the edges of the back cover using a heat gun or hairdryer to soften the adhesive. Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the back cover off, starting from a corner and working your way around the edges.
Disconnect Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a spudger to carefully disconnect it from the motherboard. This step is crucial to ensure safety during the removal process.
Remove Battery
Gently lift the battery by prying it from the phone using a spudger. Be careful not to bend or puncture the battery. If the adhesive is strong, apply a little more heat to soften it.
Install New Battery
Place the new battery into the compartment and press it firmly into place. Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard using the spudger.
Reattach Back Cover
Apply new adhesive strips to the edges of the back cover. Align the cover with the phone and press down firmly around the edges to secure it.
Reinsert SIM Card and Power On
Reinsert the SIM card tray and power on the device to ensure it functions correctly with the new battery.
