Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on your Moto G9 until the power menu appears. Select 'Power Off'. Wait a few seconds to ensure the device is completely shut down.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Insert the SIM eject tool into the small hole next to the SIM card tray. Press gently to eject the tray. Remove the SIM card and tray from the phone.
Open the Back Cover
Use a suction cup to lift a corner of the back cover. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work your way around the edges to release the clips securing the cover. Take your time to avoid breaking any clips.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the midframe. Carefully lift the midframe and disconnect the battery connector using a spudger. Be cautious not to damage any surrounding components.
Remove the Battery
Gently lift the battery using a spudger. If necessary, use tweezers to carefully pull out any adhesive strips holding the battery in place. Avoid bending or puncturing the battery.
Install the New Battery
Insert the new battery into the compartment. Ensure the battery connector aligns with the socket. If provided, apply new adhesive strips to secure the battery.
Reconnect the Battery and Reassemble
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Reattach the midframe and secure it with the screws you removed earlier. Snap the back cover back into place, ensuring all clips are secured.
Reinsert the SIM Card Tray
Place the SIM card back into the tray and insert it into the phone. Ensure it is properly seated.
Power On and Test
Press and hold the power button to turn on your Moto G9. Verify that the phone powers on and functions correctly. Check the battery percentage to ensure the new battery is recognized.
