Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Ensure your OnePlus Nord 2 5G is completely powered off before beginning the repair to prevent any electrical hazards or damage. Hold the power button and select 'Power off' from the menu.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device. This is a crucial step to prevent any damage to the SIM card or the tray during the repair process.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Using a heat gun or hair dryer, carefully apply heat to the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Move the heat source in circular motions and avoid staying in one spot for too long to prevent overheating.
Remove the Back Cover
Insert a plastic opening tool or spudger between the back cover and the frame. Gently pry around the edges to release the clips holding the back cover. Be patient to avoid cracking the cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Carefully remove the shield and use a plastic spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to ensure safety.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Locate the display cable connector and gently pry it up to disconnect it from the motherboard using a plastic spudger. Ensure you do not damage the connector or surrounding components.
Remove the Old Screen
Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert the plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the frame. Work slowly around the edges to avoid damaging the frame.
Install the New Screen
Position the new screen over the device. Reconnect the display cable to the motherboard and align the screen properly with the frame. Secure it with the pre-cut adhesive or adhesive tape.
Reconnect the Battery and Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard and replace the connector shield. Secure it with screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Reattach the back cover by aligning and pressing down around the edges until it clicks into place.
Power On and Test the Device
Insert the SIM card tray back into the device. Power on your OnePlus Nord 2 5G and test the new screen for responsiveness and functionality. Ensure all components are working correctly before considering the repair complete.
