Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Before beginning the repair, ensure the phone is powered off. Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power off'. Wait for the device to completely shut down.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the SIM card tray and gently push to eject it. Remove the SIM card tray and set it aside safely.
Apply Heat to Loosen Adhesive
Using a hairdryer or heat gun, apply heat evenly around the edges of the back cover for about 2-3 minutes. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove the back cover.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a suction cup to gently lift the back cover. Insert a plastic opening tool or spudger into the gap and carefully work your way around the edges to release the adhesive. Take care not to damage the back cover or internal components.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Carefully lift the cover and disconnect the battery connector using a plastic tool to prevent short-circuiting.
Remove the Old Screen
Locate and remove the screws securing the display connector. Disconnect the display flex cable using tweezers. Apply heat around the edges of the screen to loosen the adhesive and gently lift the screen using the suction cup and plastic opening tools.
Install the New Screen
Position the new screen and connect the display flex cable. Secure it with the previously removed screws. Ensure the new screen sits flush with the phone frame. If necessary, clean the area with isopropyl alcohol before applying new adhesive strips.
Reconnect the Battery and Reassemble
Reconnect the battery connector and place the connector cover back in position. Secure it with screws. Reattach the back cover by pressing it firmly into place and ensuring the adhesive bonds properly.
Power On and Test
Insert the SIM card tray back into the device. Power on the phone and test the new screen for functionality, ensuring touch response and display quality are as expected.
