Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold the power button and select 'Power Off' from the menu to ensure the device is completely shut down before proceeding.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the back cover from the device. Start at one corner and work your way around the edges until the cover is free. Be gentle to avoid damaging the clips.
Detach the Battery Connector
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Apply a heat gun or hair dryer evenly around the edges of the screen for 1-2 minutes to soften the adhesive. Be careful not to overheat the device.
Remove the Broken Screen
Place a suction cup near the top edge of the screen. Pull gently while using a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame. Work your way around the device to detach the screen completely.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Carefully lift the screen to reveal the display cable. Use tweezers to unlock and disconnect the display cable from the motherboard.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's display cable to the motherboard. Align the screen with the device frame and press gently to secure it in place. Ensure the screen sits flush with the frame.
Secure the Battery Connector
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Replace the connector cover and secure it with the screws you removed earlier.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the device and press down around the edges to snap it back into place securely.
Power On and Test the Device
Turn on the device and test the new screen for functionality. Ensure touch sensitivity and display quality are as expected.
