Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power Off' to completely shut down your OnePlus Nord N20 5G. Confirm that the device is off before proceeding.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Insert a SIM ejection tool or a small paperclip into the hole next to the SIM card tray. Gently press until the tray pops out, then remove it completely.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover for about 1-2 minutes. This will soften the adhesive holding the back cover in place.
Remove the Back Cover
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back cover. Gently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to carefully pry around the edges, releasing the adhesive. Work slowly to avoid cracking the back cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove any screws securing the battery connector shield. Then, use a spudger to gently pry up and disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Remove the Old Battery
Carefully lift the battery using a spudger or plastic card. Avoid bending or piercing the battery. If the battery is difficult to remove, apply a bit more heat to loosen the adhesive.
Install the New Battery
Place the new battery in the battery compartment, ensuring that it aligns properly. Connect the battery connector to the motherboard. Secure the connector with any previously removed screws.
Reattach the Back Cover
Remove any adhesive residue from the back cover and device frame. Apply new adhesive strips to the edges of the back cover. Reattach the back cover by pressing firmly around the edges to secure it.
Reinsert the SIM Card Tray
Insert the SIM card tray back into its slot until it clicks into place.
Power On and Test
Power on your OnePlus Nord N20 5G and verify that the new battery is functioning correctly by checking the battery level and ensuring it charges properly.
