Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on your OnePlus Nord N20 5G until the power menu appears. Select 'Power off' and wait until the device is completely shut down.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Insert a SIM eject tool or a paperclip into the small hole next to the SIM card tray. Gently push until the tray pops out, then remove it from the device.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to apply heat evenly around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Be careful not to overheat the device. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
Remove the Back Cover
Once the adhesive is softened, use a suction cup to lift the back cover slightly. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and gently work your way around the edges to separate the back cover from the frame. Be patient and avoid using excessive force.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Remove the Old Screen
Remove any screws securing the old screen. Use a heat gun to apply heat around the edges of the screen to loosen the adhesive. Use a suction cup and plastic opening tool to gently lift and remove the screen from the device. Be careful with the cables connecting the screen to the motherboard.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the device. Connect the screen's cables to the motherboard and secure them. Test the screen before sealing to ensure it responds correctly.
Secure the New Screen
Once the new screen is tested and aligned, use adhesive strips or double-sided adhesive tape to secure it to the device frame. Press gently around the edges to ensure a firm bond.
Reattach the Back Cover
Reattach the back cover by aligning it with the device frame. Press firmly around the edges to secure it in place. Reinsert the SIM card tray.
Power On and Test the Device
Power on your OnePlus Nord N20 5G and test the new screen to ensure it is functioning correctly, checking for responsiveness and display quality.
