Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Prepare the Device
Begin by powering off your OnePlus 7T completely. Once the device is off, remove the SIM card tray using the SIM eject tool. Place the tray in a safe location.
Heat and Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to evenly heat the edges of the back cover. This will soften the adhesive. Carefully use a plastic opening tool to lift the back cover starting at the edges. Be patient and gentle to avoid cracking the glass.
Disconnect the Battery
Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Remove the cover and use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard. This step is crucial for safety.
Remove the Old Screen
Use the heat gun or hairdryer to heat the edges of the front screen. Once heated, use a suction cup to gently lift the screen. Insert a plastic opening tool to help separate the screen from the frame. Be careful not to damage the internal components.
Install the New Screen
Carefully place the new screen onto the device, ensuring all connectors are aligned. Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape to secure the screen to the frame. Press gently around the edges to ensure a firm attachment.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery connector and place the connector cover back in position. Secure it with the screws removed earlier. Carefully align and press the back cover onto the device. Ensure it snaps into place securely.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for responsiveness and display quality. If everything is functioning correctly, reinstall the SIM card tray.
