Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card Tray
Ensure the phone is completely powered off. Use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device.
Heat and Loosen the Display Adhesive
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the phone for about 1-2 minutes. This will soften the adhesive securing the display. Be careful not to overheat, as this can damage internal components.
Detach the Display
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen. Gently lift using the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to separate the display from the frame. Work your way around the edges to release the adhesive. Be gentle to avoid cracking the display further.
Disconnect the Battery and Display Cables
Once the display is loosened, carefully open the phone like a book. Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the protective cover over the connectors. Remove the cover and use a spudger to disconnect the battery and display cables.
Remove the Old Display
With the cables disconnected, remove the old display entirely from the phone. Be cautious of any remaining adhesive or glass shards.
Install the New Display
Align the new display with the frame, ensuring the connectors are properly positioned. Reconnect the display and battery cables, and secure them with the protective cover and screws you removed earlier.
Secure the New Display
Apply new adhesive strips or double-sided tape to the frame. Carefully press the new display into place, ensuring a snug fit. Apply even pressure around the edges to ensure the adhesive bonds properly.
Reinsert SIM Card Tray and Test
Reinsert the SIM card tray into the device. Power on the phone and test the new display to ensure it is functioning correctly. Check for responsiveness and display quality.
