Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold down the power button and select 'Power Off' to completely shut down the device. This is crucial to prevent any electrical shorts during the repair.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Carefully insert a plastic opening tool between the back cover and the frame, and slide it around the edges to release the adhesive. Lift the cover off gently.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard. This step is critical to ensure safety while working on the device.
Remove the Display Assembly
Use the heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat around the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Carefully use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly, then insert a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame. Work slowly to avoid damaging the display cables.
Install the New Screen
Position the new screen carefully and connect the display cables to the motherboard. Ensure the connections are secure. Apply new adhesive strips or screen adhesive around the frame before placing the new screen, pressing firmly to secure it.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard and secure it with screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Ensure the connection is firm to avoid power issues.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the frame and press firmly around the edges to secure the adhesive. Ensure the cover is properly seated to maintain the phone’s integrity.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and check the functionality of the new screen. Test touch sensitivity, display clarity, and ensure there are no dead pixels or unresponsive areas.
