Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair

1

Power Off the Device

2 min

Ensure your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is completely powered off. Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears, then select 'Power Off'. Wait for the device to shut down completely before proceeding.

2

Remove the Back Cover and Battery

3 min

Use your fingers or a plastic opening tool to gently pry off the back cover. Once the back cover is removed, take out the battery by lifting it from the bottom. This step is crucial to ensure safety and prevent any electrical short during the repair.

3

Unscrew and Remove the Midframe

10 min

Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the midframe. Carefully use a plastic opening tool to pry around the edges and separate the midframe from the display assembly. Take care not to damage the plastic clips holding the midframe in place.

4

Detach the Display Assembly

15 min

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently warm the edges of the display. This softens the adhesive securing it. Once heated, use a suction cup to gently lift the display from the frame, while using a spudger or plastic opening tool to carefully detach it. Be cautious around the flex cables connecting the display to the motherboard.

5

Disconnect the Display Cables

5 min

With the display slightly lifted, use tweezers to gently disconnect the flex cables connecting the display to the motherboard. Take care not to pull or yank the cables to avoid damage.

6

Install the New Screen

10 min

Position the new screen near the device and reconnect the flex cables to the motherboard. Ensure they are securely fastened to avoid any display issues. Align the new screen with the frame and press gently to secure it in place.

7

Reassemble the Midframe

10 min

Carefully align the midframe back onto the device. Press gently to snap it into place. Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to replace all screws and secure the midframe. Ensure all screws are tightened but not over-tightened.

8

Reinsert the Battery and Back Cover

5 min

Place the battery back into its compartment, ensuring the contacts are aligned. Snap the back cover into place, ensuring all edges are securely fastened. Power on the device to test the new screen.
