Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold the power button until the power off option appears. Tap 'Power off' and wait for the device to completely shut down before proceeding.
Remove the Back Cover and Battery
Use your fingernail or a plastic opening tool to gently pry off the back cover. Remove the battery by lifting it out of its compartment.
Unscrew the Midframe
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove all screws securing the midframe. Keep track of the screws as they will be needed for reassembly.
Separate the Midframe from the Screen Assembly
Insert a plastic opening tool between the midframe and the screen assembly. Gently work your way around the edges to unclip the midframe from the screen assembly.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Locate the display cable connector on the motherboard. Use a spudger to carefully lift the connector from its socket.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to heat the edges of the screen. This softens the adhesive, making it easier to remove the screen. Be careful not to overheat the device.
Remove the Old Screen
Place a suction cup on the screen and gently pull to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and work around the edges to remove the screen. Be careful of any remaining glass shards.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device's frame. Press down firmly to ensure it adheres properly. Reconnect the display cable to the motherboard.
Reassemble the Device
Reattach the midframe to the screen assembly and secure it with screws. Replace the battery and snap the back cover into place.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen to ensure it is functioning correctly. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity.
