Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the power options menu appears. Tap 'Power Off' and confirm to turn off the device completely. This ensures safety during the repair process.
Remove the SIM and MicroSD Card Tray
Insert a SIM eject tool or a paperclip into the small hole next to the SIM tray. Gently push until the tray pops out, then remove it from the device.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to evenly apply heat around the edges of the back cover. This softens the adhesive, making it easier to remove. Be careful not to overheat the device.
Remove the Back Cover
Place a suction cup near the edge of the back cover and lift gently to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work your way around the edges to release the adhesive. Set the back cover aside once removed.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal bracket that covers the battery connector. Use a spudger to gently lift the battery connector from the motherboard to disconnect it.
Remove the Old Screen
Remove any screws securing the screen assembly. Use a plastic opening tool to gently separate the screen from the frame, applying heat as needed to loosen adhesive. Carefully disconnect any connectors securing the screen to the motherboard and remove the old screen.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame and reconnect any connectors to the motherboard. Secure the screen with screws if applicable. Ensure the screen is properly seated and aligned before proceeding.
Reconnect the Battery and Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Replace and secure the metal bracket with screws. Carefully align and press the back cover into place, applying gentle pressure to adhere the adhesive.
Power On and Test the Device
Insert the SIM and MicroSD card tray back into the device. Press and hold the power button to turn on the device. Test the new screen to ensure touch functionality and display quality are as expected.
