Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Ensure the device is completely powered off. Use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray and set it aside.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to evenly heat the edges of the back cover. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove. Do not overheat.
Remove the Back Cover
Place a suction cup near the edge of the back cover. Gently pull to create a gap, then insert a plastic opening tool to carefully pry around the edges, releasing the adhesive. Work slowly to avoid cracking the back glass.
Disconnect the Battery
Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the midframe. Lift the midframe carefully and disconnect the battery connector using the spudger. This prevents any electrical shorts during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Heat the front of the device along the edges to soften the adhesive securing the screen. Use a suction cup and plastic opening tool to gently lift and separate the screen from the frame. Be patient and gentle to prevent damaging the frame or internal components.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the frame. Use double-sided adhesive tape or pre-cut adhesive to secure the new screen in place. Ensure the screen is properly aligned and all connectors are securely attached.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery connector. Replace the midframe and secure it with screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Carefully reattach the back cover using new adhesive if necessary. Apply pressure to ensure it is securely attached.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen’s functionality. Ensure touch sensitivity, display quality, and any other features are working correctly.
