Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the power off prompt appears, then select 'Power Off' to completely shut down your Samsung Galaxy S1.
Remove the Back Cover and Battery
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the back cover of the device. Once removed, take out the battery by gently lifting it from the notch located at the bottom edge.
Unscrew and Remove the Midframe
Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the midframe. Keep the screws organized. Gently pry the midframe away from the device using the plastic opening tools.
Heat and Detach the Screen
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the screen for about 1-2 minutes to soften the adhesive. Carefully use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the device. Be gentle to avoid damaging the underlying components.
Disconnect the Display Cable
With the screen slightly lifted, locate and gently disconnect the display cable using tweezers or a spudger. Ensure the cable is completely detached before removing the screen entirely.
Install the Replacement Screen
Position the new screen and carefully connect the display cable. Ensure it is firmly attached and aligned properly with the connectors.
Secure the Screen and Reassemble
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the edges of the device frame. Carefully align and press the new screen into place. Reattach the midframe and secure it with screws. Replace the battery and snap the back cover onto the device.
Power On and Test the Device
Press the power button to turn on your device. Ensure the screen is responsive and functioning correctly. Check for proper touch sensitivity and display clarity.
