Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair

1

Prepare Your Workspace

5 min

Find a clean, well-lit workspace. Gather all necessary tools and materials. Ensure your device is completely powered off before beginning.

2

Remove the Back Cover

10 min

Use an iOpener or heat gun to apply heat around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Use the suction cup to gently lift the back cover while inserting a plastic opening tool to separate it from the frame. Work slowly to avoid cracking the back glass.

3

Disconnect the Battery

5 min

Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the midframe. Carefully remove the midframe and disconnect the battery connector using a spudger to ensure there is no power flowing through the device.

4

Remove the Old Screen

15 min

Apply heat to the front of the device to soften the adhesive holding the screen. Use a suction cup to lift the screen gently, while using a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame. Carefully disconnect the display cables.

5

Install the New Screen

10 min

Connect the new screen's display cables to the device. Carefully align the new screen with the frame, ensuring all connections are secure. Use new adhesive strips to secure the screen in place.

6

Reassemble the Device

10 min

Reconnect the battery connector and place the midframe back into position. Secure it with the screws removed earlier. Carefully align the back cover and press it firmly into place to ensure the adhesive bonds.

7

Test the New Screen

5 min

Power on your device and test the new screen for functionality. Ensure the touch response and display quality are as expected. If any issues arise, double-check the connections and alignment.
