Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then tap 'Power Off' on the screen. Wait for the device to completely shut down before proceeding.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Attach a suction handle near the edge and gently lift to create a gap. Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry around the edges until the back cover can be removed completely.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the midframe. Carefully pry the midframe off using a spudger. Once the midframe is removed, use the spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Remove the Old Screen
Apply heat around the edges of the screen using a heat gun or heating pad to soften the adhesive. Attach the suction handle to the screen and gently lift. Use a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame, working your way around the edges. Carefully disconnect the display cable from the motherboard.
Install the New Screen
Clean the frame with isopropyl alcohol to remove any residue. Connect the new screen's display cable to the motherboard. Align the new screen with the frame, ensuring it sits flush. Press down gently to adhere the screen to the frame using new adhesive strips or double-sided tape.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Place the midframe back into position and secure it with the screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Carefully align and press the back cover into place, applying gentle pressure around the edges to ensure a secure fit.
Power On and Test
Press the power button to turn on the device. Check the screen for responsiveness and functionality to ensure the repair was successful.
